Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Police Commissionerate has achieved the top spot in the State in its adoption of e-filing system for its file management.

The Commissionerate had introduced electronic filing in October 2019 and has till May-end e-filed more than 42,000 e-files.

Bengaluru Commissionerate has come second with more than 20,550 files.

Except for the Special Branch, all divisions in the city commissionerate has implemented e-filing system. This is because the Special Branch deals with secret files.

City police commissioner Dr Harsha stated that plans are afoot to introduce e-filing system in the offices of assistant commissioners. With e-filing, the registration and dispatch of files are completed in less than 8 hours.
