Mangaluru: College student dies in bike accident

Savanur: A student of the Vivekananda College died in a bike accident late Friday night at Mananturu near Savanurputtur.

Another student, riding pillion, was seriously injured.

The deceased, Chetan, is a resident of Madikeri’s Somavar Pete. He along with his friend Bellare resident Sudeep were returning from the Mani Sadikukku festival when the accident occurred.

Both were taken to the government hospital in Puttur in an autorickshaw after the accident.

Chetan was declared dead on arrival, while Sudeep was later taken to Mangaluru’s KMC Hospital.
