Mangaluru: Cong asks state govt to allow Kannadigas to return from other states

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) has asked the state government to make arrangements to bring back over 50,000 Kanandaigas stranded in other states on Tuesday, June 2.

Speaking with this regard DCC president K Harish Kumar said that the government has not given any support to more than 50,000 Kannadigas stranded in other states and gulf. They are in distress due to this negligence.”

“The state government has huddles to block inter-state travel when there is clearance from the Centre. Many people from Coastal Karnataka stranded due to this,” he alleged.

He also asked the government to arrange flights to bring people stranded abroad and ease the restrictions on domestic and international travel.

Speaking about the quarantine facilities in Coastal Karnataka, he said that the government should take more initiatives to improve the quarantine facilities.

They also submitted a delegation of memorandum to the Chief Minister and District minister via deputy commissioner on Tuesday.
