Mangaluru: Workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal on Tuesday cremated the couple who committed suicide fearing COVID-19 at Nandigudda crematorium.
The couple hanged themselves on Tuesday morning after sending a message to the police commissioner about their decision to die.
The couple left behind a suicide note stating that their families must not be troubled with their cremation and hence it must be done by leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal.
VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell said that as per the couple’s wishes they have performed the funeral adding that the couple’s decision was tragic and no one should take such hasty steps as COVID-19 can be treated.
