The incident occurred on the morning of February 28, 2020, when the trio entered the compound of Vasantharaj Shetty illegally with weapons and assaulted him. Two eyewitnesses had testified against the accused in the case.

The court heard the evidence presented before it and pronounced that the prosecution had proven the guilt beyond doubt and convicted the accused.
