Mangaluru: COVID-19 stats as on Apr 17

Mangaluru: On April 17, the first COVID-19 positive case was reported in the Dakshina Kannada district since April 5.

The COVID-19 positive patient is a 39-year-old man, resident of Uppinangady and was an attendee at the Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin, Delhi.

His samples were sent for testing on April 13 and is now being treated in Wenlock hospital.

5485 people in the district completed their 28-day quarantine on April 17.

32 samples were sent for testing at Wenlock’s laboratory and 90 test reports were received in which 89 tested negative and one positive as mentioned earlier.

3 remaining COVID-19 positive patients out of the initial 12 in the district were discharged on April 17 after all of them recovered.

Presently, the total count of COVID-19 positive case in the district stands at 1.
