Mangaluru Dasara celebrations from Oct 3, says Poojary

The renowned “Mangaluru Dasara” celebrations at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanath Temple will take place from October 3 to October 14 with great grandeur, announced B. Janardhana Poojary, the visionary behind the temple’s development and former Union Minister, during a press conference on Monday at the temple’s hall.
Padmaraj R., the temple treasurer, shared that Janardhana Poojary will inaugurate the Dasara festival. The event will kick off on October 3 at 8:30 AM with the installation of Navadurga and Sharada idols. A series of religious and cultural programs will be held daily throughout the festival.
In addition, a half marathon covering 21 kilometers has been organized for October 6, starting at 5:30 AM from the temple. Over 2,000 participants from across the country are expected to take part in this event, Padmaraj added.
Hari Krishna Bantwal, a member of the temple development committee, urged that the roads and buildings along the Mangaluru Dasara procession route be decorated to enhance the festival’s grandeur.
Other dignitaries present at the press meet included temple secretary Madhava Suvarna, trustees Ravishankar Mijaru, M. Shekhar Poojary, Jagadeep D. Suvarna, development committee chairman Devendra Poojary, and vice presidents Dr. Anusuya B.T. Salian and Dr. B.G. Suvarna.
Grand Dasara Procession on Oct 13
H.S. Sairam, President of the Kudroli Temple, informed that all preparations have been made for the grand Dasara celebrations. The grand Mangaluru Dasara procession will begin on October 13 at 4:00 PM from the Kudroli Temple. The procession will feature traditional Kerala Chende music, folk and cultural dance troupes from across the state, artistic performances, and tableaux from various districts and states, making it a highlight of the festival.
