Mangaluru Dasara from Oct 10th to 19th

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Dasara of Shree Gokarnanatha Temple, Kudroli will be held this year from October 10th to 19th. Deputy Chief Minister and State Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar is expected to inaugurate the celebrations, informed former union minister B Janardhana Poojary, on September 9th.
Mr Poojary informed that the idols of the Nava Durga and Goddess Sharada will be installed at the temple hall on October 19th and the colourful, grand Dasara procession will be held on October 19th.
He also mentioned that like every year his elder son Santosh Poojary would be donating Rs 10 lakh towards the celebration while his younger son Deepak will contribute Rs 3 lakhs. The Festival could be celebrated grandly with the help of donors, he said.
Tableaux Procession
Mr. Poojary said that there were 68 tableaux during the Dasara procession last year and that this year the number of tableaux is expected to be much higher with many organisations evincing interest.
