Mangaluru: The ‘Mangaluru Dasara’ festivities began at the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple on Thursday.
The events began with the rituals of Guru Prarthana and the installation of Navadurga and Sharada idols at 9 a.m. in the temple premises.
Dignitaries including Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLA Vedvyas Kamath and hundreds of devotees were present for the rituals.
The 10-day celebrations this year will be held from October 7 till October 16 under the able guidance of former union minister B. Janardhana Poojary.
