Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh ordered admitting the four senior citizens who were evicted by a private hospital in Mangaluru on Thursday, June 18 to the ESI Hospital.

The four were being treated at the Wenlock hospital. However, after Wenlock was converted as a designated COVID-19 hospital, they were shifted to the private hospital where they were undergoing treatment for almost three months.

The hospital had left the four at the Kankanady bus stand, where they spent the night.

Local merchants had helped the seniors with food and blankets.

Officials from the Mangaluru City Corporation and social welfare department escorted the four to the hospital.
