Mangaluru: Direct flight service between Mangaluru and New Delhi will be started from Mangaluru International Airport from Oct 27th and in this way, direct flight service between the two cities has been re-started.

Meanwhile, the SpiceJet flight between the two cities, which had been stopped since a few days was restarted from Friday. The new flight service bearing 180 seats between the two cities by IndiGo will begin from Oct 27. The flight will commence its journey from New Delhi at 2:05 pm in the afternoon and reach Mangaluru at 4:55 pm. The return flight will leave at 5:30 pm in the evening from Mangaluru and reach New Delhi at 8:10 pm in the night. The same plane will continue its journey between the cities the following day.

Several months ago, one Jet Express flight used to function between the two cities, but due to some reasons, the service was terminated. Hence, there was no direct flight between the cities. The only way to reach New Delhi via flight since then, was from Bengaluru or Mumbai. In this backdrop, the MP here had requested the union aviation ministry to restart the flight service between the two cities post which, flight service was started by SpiceJet on Aug 4th. However, the service was later cancelled since there was a lack of passenger. Presently, it has been restarted.

Presently, there are flights from MIA to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Dubai, Doha, Qatar, Sharjah, Bharain and Muscat provided by SpiceJet, IndiGo and Air India airline companies.
