Mangaluru: In a recorded video message, Dakshina Kannada district Congress spokesperson A C Vinayraj has objected to the lockdown relaxation in the district claiming that it might lead to an increase in COVID-19 positive cases.

He further states in the video that COVID-19 positive cases were being detected even when the lockdown was in force and the relaxation has scared the people.

He adds that Udupi district being a green zone has allowed relaxation from 7 am to 1 pm while Dakshina Kannada district has relaxed timings of 7 am to 7 pm even though its an orange zone.

He also alleged irregularities in the procurement of grocery kits by the district administration stating that they were bought from an agency without issuing any competitive tenders and were labelled as Modi Kits, asking the Lokayukta to probe both cases.
