Mangaluru: Even though the Civil Aviation Ministry instructed domestic carriers to be ready for full-scale traffic from Mangaluru International Airport from May 25 flight operations may only start from the first week of June.
This is because the schedule of flights is yet to confirmed and shared with the airport here.
In the meantime, a handful of flights will be operating from Mangaluru next week as some passengers are expected to arrive from various cities of the country. For this, markings have already been done in the airport to maintain social distancing between passengers.
Sources have informed that 7 flights from Mangaluru will be started. 4 Spice Jet flights between Mumbai and Bengaluru and one Indigo flights each to Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai have been agreed to on Thursday.
“Domestic air traffic has been instructed to be ready, but the air travel schedule has not arrived. Passenger-friendly arrangements have been made at the airport.”
