Mangaluru: Dr. G.G. Laxman Prabhu remembered at condolence meeting

Mangaluru: A memorial for the recently deceased Dr. G.G. Laxman Prabhu, the head of the Urology Department and a surgeon at the KMC Hospital, was held at the T.V. Raman Pai Hall in Mangaluru, on Thursday.

Eminent scholar Dr. M. Prabhakar Joshi paid homage, stating, “Dr. G.G. Laxman Prabhu was an exceptional physician, a rare combination of a socially conscious being with a poetic mind. He embodied humanity. His interest in literature while excelling in the medical field was extraordinary. Though he may not be physically present, his awakened consciousness will forever remain.”

Urologist Dr. Ashok Pandit mentioned, “Dr. Laxman Prabhu, a renowned doctor, had a great passion for travel. During his foreign visits, he not only collected souvenirs but also nurtured various curiosities about different cultures. Although he is no longer with us physically, he remains immortal in our minds.”

Dr. Ganesh Kamath, a urologist from Chennai, stated, “Dr. Laxman Prabhu has served as an authoritative figure in the Urological Society of India. His legacy in the medical community is everlasting.”

Chartered Accountant Vaman Kamath expressed, “Dr. Laxman Prabhu was an unforgettable personality, dedicating himself to literature, culture, organizations, societal leadership, and as a global traveler. His handling of complex medical cases earned him immense respect.”

The event was attended by T. Satish Pai, Dr. Sandhya S. Pai, T. Gautham Pai, Vanita Pai, T. Harish Pai, Manipal Media Network’s MD and CEO Mr. Vinod Kumar, MLA Dr. Vedavyas Kamath, MAHE  Pro Chancellor Dr. H.S. Ballal, KMC Mangaluru Campus Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dilip G Naik, KSCST President Ananthesh Prabhu, and others, who paid their respects to the departed soul.

Dr. G.G. Laxman Prabhu’s wife, Kavitha L. Prabhu, son Dr. G.G. Akshay Prabhu, daughter Dr. G.G. Krithika Prabhu, and brother G.G. Mohandas Prabhu were present at the event.
