Mangaluru: The water testing laboratory, which functions under the Department of Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation in the Dakshina Kannada zilla parishad, has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
It is the first laboratory in the State to receive such accreditation.
The laboratory, established in 1998, collects samples of water from water bodies in rural areas and tests it under 16 parameters.
Water testing laboratories have been mandated to receive NABL accreditation as per the guidelines of the Central government’s Jal Jeevan Mission.
