Mangaluru: Family of man who died in Oman receives Rs 25L compensation after 2 yrs

Mangaluru: The family of Noor Muhammed from Belthangady who died in a vehicular accident in Oman 2 years ago finally received Rs 25 lakhs as compensation.

The organisation Social Forum Oman is reportedly behind in helping the family get the compensation.

Muhammad (25), a resident of Sunnat kere in Belthangady taluk, was employed as a salesman in Muscat Water LLC, a bottled water company in Musanna, Oman.

He and another Oman citizen died on the spot in a vehicle accident on May 11, 2019.

Social Forum Oman had sent his dead body to his hometown in two days.

The Forum had sued the local court for compensation and following a two-year legal struggle got the Rs 25 lakh compensation released.

Muhammad’s mother died two months ago. The family now has his father, elder brother and elder sister. The amount compensation has been handed over to them.
