In a noble gesture, the family of 41-year-old Rekha, a resident of Shivamogga’s Ragigudda, has donated her organs after she was declared brain-dead.

Rekha had been admitted to Mangaluru’s Government District Wenlock Hospital four days ago following a brain hemorrhage that led to brain death.

Her organs were retrieved and transported from the hospital’s newly established surgical block under the supervision of medical experts.

Rekha’s liver was prepared for transport to Mysuru’s Apollo Hospital, while her corneas were donated to Mangaluru’s KMC Hospital.

Zero-Traffic Support:

Mangaluru Police facilitated a zero-traffic corridor to ensure the smooth and quick transfer of organs. The ambulance departed from Wenlock Hospital at 12:30 PM.
