Mangaluru: A female police officer in Mangaluru showcased remarkable compassion when she rushed an injured man to the hospital on her scooter following an accident near KPT on Wednesday.
Murshida Banu, a constable stationed at the Kadri Police Station, was on her way to duty around 4 AM when she witnessed an accident at the Vyasanagar turn near KPT.
A pickup truck transporting chickens collided with a parked truck, resulting in severe injuries to the pickup’s cleaner. The driver also sustained injuries and was left in a helpless condition.
Noticing the incident while heading to the station, Murshida approached the driver and quickly assessed the situation. She immediately took the injured cleaner to a nearby private hospital. Due to the unavailability of an auto-rickshaw, she held the injured man with one hand while riding her scooter to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, local police were present to assist with the admission process. Subsequently, she informed the Kadri traffic police about the accident, prompting them to visit the scene.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal praised Murshida Banu for her dedication to duty and her exemplary humanitarian response.
