Mangaluru: Fire breaks out at income tax office due to short circuit

Mangaluru: A fire broke out in the TDS section of the Income Tax office at Central Revenue Building in Attavar due to a short circuit in the air-conditioner. Nobody was injured in the mishap

It is said that the incident took place at around 9.30 am, a few files, computers were gutted in the fire. However, no data has been lost as the soft copies have been stored in the centralized system

Deputy commissioner of police Hariramshankar said that as smoke was seen billowing out of the building this morning, immediately the fire service was called and the fire was brought under control

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar visited the spot and conducted an inspection
