Mangaluru: Fire mishap at Hampankatta after accident; Driver arrested

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested the driver of a private bus in connection with the fire mishap at Hampankatta after collision with a bike on Friday, April 8.

The arrested accused has been identified as Biju Monu.

The mishap took place after a bike rammed into the bus causing fuel leakage. The bike was entirely charred in the incident and the condition of the biker is critical.

The CCTV footage showed driver Biju Monu breaking the traffic signal which led to the accident.

A case of negligence has been registered against the accused and he has been remanded to judicial custody till April 26.
