Mangaluru: Former patients, staff and others who visited the First Neuro Hospital here have been put under home quarantine by the district administration.

A nurse working in the Hospital and her family in Maladi village, a 76-year-old who was recently discharged from the Hospital and their family near Madanthyar, two families from Padegudde village whose members were treated at the Hospital and a family near Kalkarna which visited an admitted relative at the Hospital have all been put under home quarantine.

Also, a woman from Karaya who had visited the Hospital 15 days ago has been admitted to Wenlock hospital here. She visited a private hospital at Ujire on April 23 from where she was brought to Wenlock. The private hospital she visited has also been sealed. The COVID-19 test results of the woman are awaited.

The district administration had sealed the First Neuro Hospital and its surrounding areas as the COVID-19 patient from Bantwal who had died earlier this week was being treated for paralysis in this hospital.

Police have set up guard posts in front of the hospital and no patients or other people are being allowed to enter or leave the hospital.
