Mangaluru: Fishing boat out to sea catches fire

Mangaluru: A fishing boat caught fire in the deep sea early Monday morning.

The boat named Safavi, owned by Hussain, had left Mangaluru dock for fishing on Sunday with 10 fishermen on board.

Between 3 to 4 AM on Monday, about 88 nautical miles from the dock, the boat suddenly caught fire. The fishermen were rescued by another boat nearby.

The boat owner reported a loss of approximately Rs. 1 crore due to the incident.
