Mangaluru: Foundation stone laying ceremony for Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle to be held today

Mangaluru: The city’s Lady Hill Circle will be renamed after philosopher and social reformer Sri Narayan Guru, who advocated for “one caste, one religion, and one God for humanity.”

The Mangaluru City Corporation’s (MCC), during the tenure of then-Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar had passed a resolution to this effect. Later the proposal was forwarded to the state government for approval.

Following the Karnataka government’s consent for the proposal, the foundation stone laying ceremony for renaming Ladyhill Circle to Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle will be held on April 14 at 7 p.m.

MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada V Sunil Kumar, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, mayor Premanand Shetty, and MUDA president Ravishankar Mijar and others would attend the ceremony.
