Mangaluru: Four arrested for illegal transportation of beef

Mangaluru: Police officials on Thursday have arrested four people in connection with the illegal transportation of beef from Kerala.

The arrested accused have been identified as Hussein, a resident of Chembugudde,  Mohammed Ameen, Suhaib Akhtar and Muhammed Muzambil, residents of Kodi Ullal. The accused were transporting beef from Kasargod to Ullal in a car.

It is said that they purchased the cows from a man named Muhammed in Bandyodu, slaughtered the animals at his house and were planning to sell the meat in Ullal.

Police officials have seized a car, 160kgs of beef, 3 cow heads and animal leather worth around Rs 3,10,000 from the accused.
