Mangaluru: The Government of Kerala has banned bans Keralites from travelling to Mangaluru and has cancelled the travel passes issued for movement between Kerala to Mangaluru.
The order comes in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Dakshina Kannada district.
Many Kerala residents travel from Kerala’s Kasargod district to Dakshina Kannada for their job and business.
Recently, five people who travelled from Kerala to Mangaluru tested positive for COVID-19. This is said to be the immediate reason for the travel ban.
Kerala government has allowed Keralites to travel to Mangaluru only once a month. Those already in Mangaluru can come to Kerala only once in 28 days.
