Mangaluru: Due to the repair work on the Kuloor old arch bridge connecting Mangaluru and Udupi, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to restrict heavy vehicle movement for three days during the daytime.
On August 19, 20, and 21, heavy vehicles will be allowed to use the adjacent new bridge only from 10 PM to 6 AM and 11 AM to 3 PM. During these hours, the new bridge will be utilized for two-way traffic for heavy vehicles.
During the restricted hours from 6 AM to 11 AM and 3 PM to 10 PM, heavy vehicles traveling from Udupi towards Kerala can use the Mulky-Suratkal-MRPL, Bajpe, KPT, and Nanthoor routes.
The district administration will assess the situation after this trial period. If necessary, the restriction may be extended from August 25 to September 25, according to Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan.
