Mangaluru lad Mohammed Aashiq is now a MasterChef

In a moment of pride and joy for Mangaluru, Mohammed Aashiq clinched the top spot in the MasterChef India Season 8.

During the finale, which premiered on SonyLiv on Friday, Aashiq was crowned the winner while Nambie Jessica Marak and Rukhsaar Sayeed claimed the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.

Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna congratulated Aashiq’s grit and perseverance. “And the WINNER is Mohammed Ashiq @ashiqrex After not being selected in the last season, he worked harder, kept learning and preparing for the next opportunity. Hats off to you. He has our heart and the trophy of MasterChef India. Stay blessed and keep shining,” he wrote.

Celebrity chef and judge Ranveer Brar congratulated Aashiq on Instagram, commending his resilience and daring spirit throughout the challenging journey. “From an inspirational start to a challenging journey, you never stopped daring for more. Congratulations on becoming the MasterChef Mohd. Ashiq,” he wrote in his congratulatory message.

Pastry chef Pooja Dhingra also praised Aashiq’s six-week journey, celebrating his well-deserved victory. “After 6 long weeks, multiple challenges, we finally have our MasterChef for this season today. Congratulations MasterChef Mohd. Ashiq,” she said.

Aashiq shared his gratitude for the life-altering experience, emphasizing the transformation from facing elimination to hoisting the trophy.

“I am immensely grateful for the whirlwind journey I’ve had on MasterChef India. From facing elimination to holding the trophy, every moment was a profound lesson. This experience has completely reshaped my life, and winning this esteemed title feels surreal. He acknowledged the support of judges Vikas, Ranveer, and Pooja, along with fellow contestants and the audience, recognizing their role in his culinary growth.

The 24-year-old Mohammed Aashiq’s compelling narrative has deeply resonated with viewers. This lad from Mangaluru, aimed for a career in hotel management, but financial constraints redirected his path.

However, undeterred by obstacles, he transformed his affection for food into a business venture, launching his juice bar. Through innovative culinary creations, he delighted patrons, showcasing his innate artistic flair.

He suffered a setback in the previous season of MasterChef India, but his dedication to honing his culinary skills earned him the top spot in season 8 of the reality show.
