Mangaluru: Lady Goschen Hospital gets breast milk bank

Mangaluru: A breast milk bank has been installed in the government Lady Goschen Hospital, informed sources.
The hospital conducts over 700 childbirths every month and this bank will help newborns who lose their mothers at birth, and premature babies.
Machinery costing Rs 45 lac has been installed in the hospital in association with Rotary Club. The bank, once it becomes functional, will be a boon to premature babies and the ones who have lost their mothers.
Women who have newly given birth, and donors can donate breast milk to this bank which will increase the chances of survival of premature babies.
