Mangaluru: Fear has seized the area after a citizen sighted a leopard prowling near Kumpala, Pilaru Palla, within the Someshwar town municipal limits.
At around 9.30 pm, a local named Shivaraj Ponnuswamy from Kumpala Pilaru Palla was walking to his daughter’s house when he reportedly witnessed a leopard crossing the road and entering bushes near his home.
Shivaraj thought it may be a wildcat at first. However, he determined that it was a little leopard based on its long tail and colour. The animals’ paw prints were partially erased when the area experienced rain that night.
While some people say it’s just a leopard, others claim it’s a wildcat.
Forest officials, on the other hand, stated they had not received any reports of leopards in the region.
