Mangaluru: Lokayukta raids Zilla Panchayat office; engineer caught red handed accepting bribe

Mangaluru: The Lokayukta officers raided the Zilla panchayat office here on Monday, February 20, and caught a government official accepting a bribe.
During the raid Panchayat technical assistant engineer was caught red-handed while taking bribes from a party.
The engineer, identified as Roopa, had demanded a bribe from a contractor to pass a bill. She was caught accepting Rs 8,000.
The raid was led by Lokayukta SP Simon and DYSP Cheluvaraju.
