Preparations are underway for the inauguration of long-awaited launch of the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat train on December 30.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the service remotely, along with six other train services across the nation set for inauguration on the same day.

According to sources, the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat train service is expected to operate six days a week, except for Tuesdays. As per the tentative schedule, the train will depart from Mangaluru Central at 8:30 am, and will arrive at Madgaon by 1:05 pm. The return journey from Madgaon will commence at 6:10 pm, reaching Mangaluru by 10:45 pm. The train has stops only at Udupi and Karwar along the route.

The inauguration of the 4th and 5th platforms at Mangaluru Central is also scheduled to coincide with the launch of this Vande Bharat rail service, sources added.
