Mangaluru: Man arrested for bootlegging in Bajpe

In a recent enforcement action, PSI Kumareshan of Bajpe Police Station arrested Jayananda Kulal (48), a resident of Kalladi House in Mogaru village, on charges of bootlegging.
The arrest transpired during a routine patrol by PSI Kumareshan in Tharemaar, Mogaru village, around 5:45 pm on December 27. While approaching a shop owned by the accused, Jayananda Kulal, several individuals near the establishment hastily dispersed upon noticing the PSI.
Suspecting illicit activities, PSI Kumareshan conducted a thorough check inside the shop, discovering 24 tetra packets of 90 ml liquor concealed in a plastic cover beneath the shop’s showcase. Subsequent inquiry revealed that Kulal was allegedly engaged in the sale of liquor without the required license.
PSI Kumareshan promptly arrested Jayananda Kulal, confiscating 24 tetra packets of liquor and Rs 550 in cash. A case has been registered at Bajpe Police Station in connection with the incident. The arrest operation was conducted with the assistance of personnel from the crime detective section of Bajpe Police Station.
