Mangaluru: Man arrested for trying to rape saleswoman

Mangaluru: A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a door-to-door saleswoman, reports said.

The victim who sells Ayurvedic pills of the ‘Kasturi’ brand filed a complaint with the Women’s Police Station against the accused Mohammed Iqbal (52), son of Abubakker from Mulky Kenchanakere.

The incident happened on Thursday, February 3, when the woman had visited the house of the accused at Kaje Kody House in Kolambe village. The accused pulled her by the hand, touched her inappropriately, and tried to rape her in the house.

Meanwhile, the accused was arrested and produced before the court. Further investigations are underway.
