Mangaluru: Man kidnapped, beaten up by gang

Mangaluru: A gang of 6 kidnapped a man and attempted to murder him in Charmadi Hills on Wednesday, May 25.

The victim identified as Kabeer (26), a resident from near Ullal Dargah escaped from the gang and reached Ullal by auto rickshaw. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thokkotu.

The accused Sadakatulla alias Poppa, Ugrani Munna, Immi alias Irashadi, Thahib, Asgar and Ibbi had received instructions to kill Kabeer.

He was kidnapped from Ullal while returning home after dropping his brother in Kotepur. The gang who came in the car hit his bike, beat him and forced him into their car.

While the gang stopped near Charmadi hills to kill him, Kabeer escaped and reached Ullal.

Kabeer told the police officials that all of them had tablet strips in their hands and were intoxicated.

Further investigations are underway.
