A fire erupted on Friday night in a house in Bajal Pallakere, resulting in the destruction of property exceeding rs 18 lakh, including furniture and decorative items.

The affected residence belonged to Laxminarayan, a local resident who operated a decoration business in the city. Materials utilized for decoration purposes were stored on the slab in front of the house. On the evening of the incident, Laxminarayan had left for work, and the fire was noticed around 11 pm.

Fortunately, neighbors swiftly responded, rescuing Laxminarayan’s wife who was inside the house at the time of the fire. The fire brigade promptly intervened and successfully extinguished the blaze.

On Saturday morning, MLA Vedavyas Kamath visited the site of the incident to extend support and reassurance to the affected family. He assured them that the government would provide grants for house repairs and offered personal cooperation during this challenging time.

Former Legislative Council member Ivan D’Souza also visited the scene and directed the Tahsildar to expedite immediate relief measures for the affected family.
