Mangaluru Mayor, Deputy Mayor elections: BJP announces its candidates

Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), whose election is scheduled to take place today (September 09).

The party announced that Jayananda Anchan will be its candidate for Mayor’s post, while Poornima will contest for the post of Deputy Mayor.

Jayananda Anchan represents the Kadri Padavu (Ward No. 22), whereas Poornima is a corporator from the Central Market (Ward No 41) of the MCC.

The elections are scheduled to begin at 12 noon on September 09.

As announced, this time the post of Mayor is reserved for the “General” category, while the Deputy Mayor is for the “Backward Class Woman” representative.
