Mangaluru: MCC seeks Rs 20 cr from govt for Mahakalipadpu road widening

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has sought Rs 20 crore from the State government to acquire land for the widening of the road at Mahakalipadpu connecting to the National Highway 66.

Earlier, it was decided that the government and the MCC will jointly fund the acquisition of the 1.25 acres of land. However, the MCC could not find any available funds for the joint acquisition, they have now requested the government to sanction the entirity of the sum required.

Apart from the Rs 20 crore to be spent on land acquisition another Rs 30 crore will be spent to build a railway underpass at the Mahakalipadpu railway crossing.
