Mangaluru: Meeting conducted on lockdown situation in district

Mangaluru: District In-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary presided a meeting in the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Friday, April 17 discussing a few issues faced in the district during the lockdown.
In the meeting, the District Health Officer (DHO) stated that 9 COVID-19 positive patients have already been discharged after recovery and all preparations and precautions to prevent the spread of the virus are in place.
In the meeting the problems faced by patients shifted to private hospitals from Wenlock district hospital after it was reserved for COVID-19 cases was also discussed.
These patients are being charged by private hospitals for the treatments. These hospitals complain that they cannot offer treatments to these patients on the charges set by the government.
Another issue discussed was that of non-State fish traders selling fishes in lorries on the roadside in the city.
Poojary instructed the Fisheries Department that fish laden trucks from Tamil Nadu can only sell their fishes at grounds near Thokkottu and trucks coming from Udupi must sell their fishes at Surathkal.
Along with Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and other officers of the district administration were also present in the meeting.
