Mangaluru: Minister Zameer Ahmed surprise inspection finds several issues at post-matric hostel

Mangaluru: Karnataka Housing, Wakf, and Minority Welfare Minister, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan paid a surprise visit to the post-matric minority boys’ hostel at Valencia Road on Tuesday evening. During the inspection, the minister found several shortcomings at the facility.
Minister Rahim Khan and Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed accompanied Zameer Ahmed.
The minister expressed his dissatisfaction about the lack of cleanliness and maintenance of toilet facilities.
At this time, students boarding at the hostel told the minister about their problems. The students complained that they are being served substandard quality food, the food chart was not followed, and no new bed sheets and pillows have been provided for the 5 years.
Finding the shortcomings, the minister ordered the immediate suspension of Taluk Extension Officer Manjunath. He also instructed officials to serve show cause notices to DMO Jinendra and hostel warden Ashok.
