Mangaluru: Mobile shop operator detained on rape charges

Mangaluru: Surathkal police on Monday, October 25 arrested a man, employed as an operator at a mobile shop for the alleged rape of a girl.
The accused has been identified as Munna alias Ibrahim, a resident of Kinnigoli
In her complaint the girl state that the man had got her contact details as she had recently bought a mobile phone, SIM card from his shop.
It is alleged that when Munna contacted her over the phone, he did not reveal his real identity and made the girl believe that he was in love with her. He later raped the victim at a lodge in August of this year and threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke of the incident, the complaint reads
An investigation into the case is underway.
