Mangaluru: MUDA Commissioner Mansoor Ali denied bail in bribery case

Mangaluru: A court in Mangaluru refused to grant bail to MUDA Commissioner Mansoor Ali and broker Muhammad Salim in the bribery case.
Lokayukta Police had caught Salim on March 23 for accepting a bribe of Rs 25 lakhs on Behalf of Mansoor Ali. Following this, both were arrested under section 7(A) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and its amendment in 2018.
Ali and Salim were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody till April 8.
The accused had moved the court for bail. After hearing the arguments in the bail plea, the 3rd Additional District and Sessions (Special) Court Judge Sandhya S denied bail to the accused.
Additional Special Public Prosecutor Ravindra Munnippadi argued on behalf of the Lokyukta.
