Mangaluru: The construction of the new Gurpur bridge on the Phalguni river is finally complete and is slated for inauguration soon.
The bridge missed its deadline of February 2020 due to technical issues and delay in the acquisition of land for construction.
The new bridge is constructed adjacent to the old bridge which was built in the early 1920s and was declared unsafe for vehicular traffic.
The bridge on the National Highway 169 connects Mangaluru to Karkala via Moodabidri.
