Mangaluru: Nine students arrested on ragging charge

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested nine students of various private colleges in Mangaluru on the charge of ragging.
Out of the nine students, seven students were also found to be consuming drugs.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nanda Shrikumar (19) and Alan Shaiju (19) from Idukki district, Shihas C K P (20), a resident of Chervathur, Kasargod, and Pravesh K P (21) Gopi Krishna H (21), Hasan P S (21), Vishnu P R (22), all from Thrissur, Jasil Mohammed and Abhi Alex.
It is said that the accused ragged two students who are pursuing their first year allied health sciences course in a private college at a flat in Attavar. They allegedly physically assaulted them and also transferred cash from the victims’ accounts.
A case has been registered.
