Mangaluru: One worker from family eligible for compensation says DC Rupesh

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has stated that only one person from a family is eligible for the monetary compensation disbursed by the State government for the workers reeling under financial trouble due to the lockdown.

Speaking at a meeting held at her office on the compensation to be paid to barbers and laundrymen, Rupesh said that only one person from a family will receive the compensation even if there are others from the same family involved in the trade.

She added that beneficiaries should register on the Seva Sindhu portal to receive the compensation of Rs 5,000.

Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan, labour department officer Wilma and others were present in the meeting.
