Mangaluru: Online job scam; accused arrested

Police officials have arrested an individual in connection with a case involving the swindling of Rs 1.15 lakh through purported online part-time job offers distributed via WhatsApp links.
The apprehended suspect has been identified as Saddam Gauri, also known as Bavuri (30), hailing from Bavuri village near Musalman Ka Bavuri Ramdev Mandir in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan.
During the operation conducted by Shyamsundar, the station officer of CEN City Crime Branch in Mangaluru, and his team, under the supervision of ACP Ravish Nayak of the CCRB unit, police seized significant evidence from the accused.
This included two mobile phones, eight debit cards, four bank passbooks, as well as the individual’s Aadhar card and PAN card.
The operation was carried out under the directive of DCP Siddarth Goyal and oversight of city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal, marking a notable milestone in combating online fraud and ensuring public safety.
