Mangaluru: The ongoing Operation Tiger in the city saw a significant police deployment near the State Bank Service Bus Stand. The operation, aimed at clearing encroachments, has come under scrutiny due to allegations of partiality.
In response to these accusations, authorities have intensified the operation. Shops that had extended beyond legal limits onto the footpaths are also being removed as part of the crackdown.
The authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring a fair and unbiased operation to reclaim public spaces and maintain order in the city.
Recently the Mangaluru City Corporation took action against illegal street stalls on Ladyhill-Mannagudde Road and KPT -Airport Road.
First, around 25-30 shops near Ladyhill were removed. These included stalls selling bonda, fast food, juice, panipuri, and omelets.
Last week the police had detained four people who tried to stop the operation and took them to the police station.
