Mangaluru: In a bid to ease traffic congestion, the Kankanady Old Road (bypass road) in Mangaluru has been declared a one-way road from March 20 until further notice.

Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain issued an order prohibiting all vehicular traffic on the old Kankanadi Bypass Road from Kankanady Circle towards Pumpwell.

Under the new rules, vehicles of all types going towards Pumpwell from Falnir Road (Mother Teresa Road) will be required to take a left turn at Kankanady Junction and take a right turn at Karavali Junction towards Pumpwell.

Similarly, all vehicles going towards Pumpwell from Mangaladevi and Valencia will have to travel straight at Kankanady Junction towards Karavali Junction and take a right turn there to reach Pumpwell.
