Mangaluru: A controversy occurred at Kokkada in the Dakshina Kannada district after photos emerged on social media showing government school children eating lunch at a newly built mosque.

It was reported that a Hindu leader expressed displeasure over the school principal for sending the school’s children including girls to the mosque for the meal without the consent of their parents.

The mosque management reportedly stated that there was nothing controversial about it as they had invited people from all religions at the inauguration of the mosque.

They claimed that the students were not forced by the school to eat lunch at the mosque but had come voluntarily.
