Mangaluru: Parameshwar directs to establish anti-communal wing

Mangaluru: Karnataka Home Minister, G Parameshwar on Tuesday, June 6 informed that he has issued instructions to the officials to establish an anti-communal wing in the city.

The decision aims to combat moral policing and maintain communal harmony.

The announcement came after a meeting with police officers from Western Zone, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, and Udupi districts in Mangaluru.

The Home Minister emphasized the importance of creating a fear-free environment for the people.

During the meeting, he also directed the police to take stringent action against any activities that could disrupt communal harmony.

Furthermore, he stated that if necessary, similar wings would be formed in other locations as well.

Addressing concerns about drug-related issues in the city, G. Parameshwar instructed the authorities to launch a campaign for drug control. He set a deadline of August 15 to suppress drug activities effectively.
