Mangaluru: Pedestrian falls into cable trench, MCC demands action against company

Mangaluru: An incident of a pedestrian being injured after falling into a trench opened for cable laying on a footpath has been reported here in the city.
Reportedly, the incident took place near a jewellery shop near Hampankatta on Monday, December 19 night.
As per the reports, no permissions or safety measures were taken for the work from City Municipal Corporation
It is learned that, after the incident had come to light, the Mangalore City Corporation closed the trench.
Meanwhile, the municipal corporation has urged the police to take stringent action against the cable laying company for the irresponsible act.
